3 Christmas Movies about Confidence, Bravery and Sisterly Love

After the chaotic and confusing journey of 2020, the festive time of year is finally upon us. And sure, Christmas is going to look a little bit different this year. Families may not be able to keep up with some of their traditions due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn’t mean that any of the magic has to be missed out on!

Christmas movies are one of the easiest ways to get into the spirit of the season. We know that there are dozens of quality Christmas movies out there, but do they all bring a positive message to our girls? Probably not.

Here are our favourite Christmas movies that focus on…you guessed it: bravery, confidence, and sisterly love!

  1. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020). This brand-new Netflix film tells the story of a young girl, Journey, who finds herself swept away in the world of toymaking. She must use her intuition and courage to help her grandfather out of a creative rut. We love this film for its ability to tell us a fresh tale about family and the unbreakable bonds of love.
  2. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018). The nutcracker is an age-old story that we have all heard of before, but this film brings it to us in a visionary way. Watch as young Clara finds herself up against unimaginable challenges while making new friends all along the way! We get to see a young girl harness her true bravery and fight for what’s right in this Disney flick.
  3. Frozen (2013). This is a movie that has been talked about nonstop since it first released, but we think that it still deserves a spot on our list! We get to see two sisters do everything that they can to fight for each other, no matter the odds against them. Anna and Elsa share one of the best sisterly love stories in the history of child-friendly films, and we love it!

Get a warm drink, snuggle up and enjoy the quality time with your little lady.

Happy Holidays!
