About our fabric...

As a mom of active little ones, I became so tired of buying pretty leggings for my girls, only to find holes around the knees or bottoms after only a few washes! So, when choosing fabric for Indica leggings, I wanted to find an option that met the quality standards of moms (and dads) like myself. And so, the search began. I had to ask some important questions... “Does strong fabric have to be thick and uncomfortable?” “Can I ensure absolute softness, while keeping the shape and comfort that leggings require?” And then, as if it descended from above, I found out about a miracle fabric... Charcoal Bamboo! “What’s so special about it?” you ask... Charcoal bamboo is not only stronger and softer than cotton, but it has special “mineral powers”. It is known to keep you comfortable and dry on hot days and, due to the very porous nature of bamboo charcoal, the fabric also acts to insulate you against the cold, retaining heat on cold days. BUT HOW IS IT MADE? Taking raw bamboo, which is more than 5 years old. We love bamboo because it grows so rapidly, with little irrigation. The bamboo is turned into charcoal by burning it in ovens at temperatures of 800 degrees C. The charcoal is processed further and is made into nano particles. The nano particles are then embed- ded into cotton or polyester fibres. We have added 14% lycra to our composition to ensure a comfort- able stretch and ensure the legging keeps it's shape.
